The Korea-China Friendship Tower was set up in memory of heroic mettle of the Chinese Volunteers who fought in the Korean War and to enrich the Korea-China friendship. It rises on the beautiful Moran Hill. First built in October in 1959 and enlarged in 1984, covering an area of 120,000 square meters with the height of 30m. The tower was laid by 1025 blocks of granite and marble stone symbolizing October 25th when Chinese People's Volunteers participated in the war. Hoechang cemetery for martyrs holds the grave of Chinese martyr Mao Anying, son of Chairman Mao Zedong.
Li Yuanchao laid wreaths before the tower where the Chinese martyrs' list was kept in it and the Cemetery of the Fallen Fighters of the Chinese People's Volunteers in Hoechang County.
