The body of Erin Corwin, the wife of a U.S. Marine who went missing in June, was found near Joshua Tree National Park, hidden 140 feet inside a mine shaft.
Her alleged lover was arrested in connection with her death, and his wife may also be a person of interest.
Roughly eight weeks after Corwin's husband reported her missing, investigators said they located a woman's body in the mine shaft on Saturday and retrieved it on Sunday at around 6:30pm.

Dental records positively identified the body as 19-year-old Erin Corwin.
An autopsy showed that she was a homicide victim. Further tests will also reveal on Monday if Corwin was three months pregnant when she died.
Christopher Brandon Lee, 24, who is the only suspect in the murder, was arrested at 10:00pm on Sunday in Anchorage and is awaiting extradition to California.
According to authorities, he and Corwin began an affair in February. Corwin was planning to go hunting with Lee on the day of her disappearance.
District Atty. Mike Ramos of San Berardino County said that more arrests may still be possible as they continue the investigation.
Lee's wife, Nicole, who may also be in Alaska, is said to have told a neighbor that the detectives did not have a case against them and "they would never find the body." According to the search warrant that was released in July, witnesses also overheard her scold Lee for not being able to keep his lies straight when he talked to detectives.
After their home was searched, Lee and his wife began to pack up their belongings and planned to move to Alaska.
As the investigations into the homicide continue, Corwin's family members posted on Facebook that they are relieved that the search is over, although they had hoped for a different outcome. They ask for privacy as they begin their mourning and continue to pray for justice for Erin.
