It's actually a battle of two Brit hit makers. The pop diva's latest album sold 728,000 copies last week, trailing Coldplay's new release, A Head Full of Dreams, far and away, which sold 209,000 copies in its debut week, data from Nielsen Music revealed on Monday.

The British rock band is slated to play the sought-after halftime show at the 2016 Super Bowl in February. The group already announced that they're streaming "A Head Full of Dreams" on Spotify in its second week of release, which gives their fans the hope that they might trounce Adele from the top spot.

But whether or not the band dethrones Adele doesn't matter anymore because 25 so far is the biggest selling album in the U.S. for 2015, with over 5.19 million copies sold since it was released on Nov. 20.

Adele is making her first ever North American tour after five years. She is scheduled to perform on 56 dates starting in July in St. Paul, Minnesota, ending it in Mexico City in November. Tickets for her UK and European tour are already sold out.

Landing on the third spot is Justin Bieber's Purpose selling 150,000 copies sold for the week. A cappella group Pentatonix dropped to the 4th place with That's Christmas To Me.

Rappers G-Eazy ("When It's Dark Out") and Rick Ross ("Black Market") made their entrance on the top 10 list, landing the fifth and sixth spot, respectively. Reaching the seventh spot is South African-born Australian actor and singer Troye Sivan, for his album Blue Neighborhood.

On the Digital Songs chart, meanwhile, Adele's single "Hello" was no match to Jordan Smith's version of the Queen classic "Somebody to Love," selling more than 164,000 copies compared to Hello's 158,000.
