Dong Nguyen, an independent video game developer from Vietnam, will be releasing a new game, called "Swing Copters," on the iOS App Store and Android's Google Play on Thursday.
The game is similar to Nguyen's "Flappy Bird," which received 50 million downloads and US$50,000 per day through ads before it was taken down in February.

While in "Flappy Bird" the character dodging obstacles to get through checkpoints determines the player's performance, in "Swing Copters" the gamer takes control of a figure wearing a "propeller hat" that rises into the sky and can be made to go left or right by tapping the screen.
Whether the new game can repeat the success of "Flappy Bird" remains to be seen.
"Flabby Bird," the game in which users have to direct a bird's flight between green pipes, was removed from Apple's App Store and Google Play on Feb. 9.
Some speculated that the move was due to a lawsuit filed by Nintendo, a Japanese electronics and video game maker, accusing Nguyen of stealing graphic designs from the company's earlier games, according to The Inquisitr.
Nguyen, however, gave a different reason why he took down the game.
"'Flappy Bird' was designed to play in a few minutes when you are relaxed," said Dong in his first exclusive interview since he pulled the plug on the app, according to Forbes. "But it happened to become an addictive product. I think it has become a problem. To solve that problem, it's best to take down 'Flappy Bird.' It's gone forever."
But Nguyen appeared to take back his statement about the fate of the game when he released an exclusive sequel, called "Flappy Birds Family," in Amazon's Appstore, according to The Verge.
The game released for the TV had new features such as a versus mode and more obstacles while retaining its difficult, yet fun, gameplay, according to its product description on Amazon. There is also emphasis on "not breaking your TV" while playing the game with family and friends.
