Leak Reveals List Of Samsung Devices Scheduled to Receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

(Photo : Reuters) Samsung's Galaxy A9 smartphone has since been certified by the Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (TENAA) in China, and by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) agency in the United States.

Several Android OEM's have started to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates on their respective devices, with some companies having their schedules and internal information on the rollout leaked on the Internet.

South Korean tech giant Samsung is one of those companies that has yet to officially announce its Marshmallow update rollout schedule, but its plans have been leaked into the web.

Websites like the Vietnam-based SamsungViet claims that Samsung has already plotted its timeline for the Android Marshmallow update roll out.

It appears that Samsung is scheduled to release the update to its smartphones and tablet within the coming weeks. The website added that as many as 13 smartphones and at least three tablets will receive the Android Marshmallow update come 2016.

No specific timeline was provided, but there are speculations that it should be within the first quarter of 2016.

The list of smartphones expected to receive the Android Marshmallow update are the following; Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4 and Note 4 Duos, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Duos, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S5 Neo, Galaxy S5 LTE-A and the Galaxy Alpha. All these smartphones, except the Galaxy Alpha, are expected to receive the Marshmallow update within the first quarter of 2016.

The listed devices expected to receive the Android Marshmallow update surfaced on the Internet shortly after a video showing the Samsung Note 4 running on the update was leaked.

For its tablet lineup, the list includes the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Galaxy Tab A. The Android Marshmallow update is expected to reach these devices within the second quarter of 2016.

Previous leaks have indicated that the Android Marshmallow update will reach Samsung's current-generation devices first. Speculations claim that the update will be rolled out either before the end of the year or early in 2016.
