The film, which was based on a best-selling young adult novel, revolves around the relationship of Mia and Adam over a few years which leads into a tragedy that puts their bond to the test.
Jamie Blackley has admitted to getting the jitters the first time he and Chloe Grace were being tested for screen chemistry. The actress was said to have easily given way to fast friendship thus making it a relief for Jamie Blackley.
The 23-year old actor shared that he remembered being very nervous during that time, but in the process, the two stars have just messed around the set and became friends.
"She just made it so easy," Jamie Blackley said on the interview, adding that he believed that in order to portray young love, two people just have to hang out, mess around sometimes and be buddies. He has also expressed his hopes for the point to come across.
The author of 'If I Stay' said that it was a hard job looking for someone to play the character of Adam who has to be good looking and confident, but at the same time vulnerable. It seems like Jamie Blackley has all the qualities the author is looking for.
