Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is in hot water after flipping his finger at the Washington Redskins bench during their preseason game on Monday.

Manziel, whose Browns lost to the Redskins, 24-23, said he had a heated exchange with someone at the Redskins' bench when he threw an incomplete pass. He said he overheard something from the bench while returning back to the huddle. The incident was seen on national television.

"I felt like I did a good job of holding my composure throughout the night, and you have a lapse of judgment and slip up," Manziel stated during the postgame conference.

Mike Pettine, Browns coach, was disappointed about it stating that he was only informed about the gesture after the game. Pettine talked about being poised and focused in the game.

The 21-year-old Manziel was not punished with his unsportsmanlike demeanor. However, the NFL will definitely review the footage of the incident. In 2009, the Bud Adams was fined $250,000 for extending both middle fingers.

Also, Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk paid a fine of $10,000 for flipping the finger to the Green Bay bench. Hawk claimed that it was only a joke.

Brian Hoyer, Manziel's competition for the starting quarterback position, appears to be unconvinced with the behavior. Hoyer cited that players should be aware that the cameras are rolling.

It was not the first time Manziel was ridiculed by the Redskins. Brian Orakpo, the Redskins' linebacker, made fun of Manziel being sacked by a teammate in the first quarter. Orakpo celebrated by giving his famous money sign.

The man gave another money sign when the Browns were forced to gamble with Manziel at quarterback.

Manziel experienced difficulties during the course of the game that also triggered his frustrations. After the incident, he was able to complete a drive with a short drop pass to Dion Lewis leading to a touchdown.
