Poised to be one of the highest grossing movie in China, locally produced Mojin: The Lost Legend grossed $92 million during its release this past weekend. The instant blockbuster was directed by Wuershan and stars a cast of  A-list Chinese actors.

Mojin is a movie version of Ghost Blows Out the Light by popular Chinese novelist Tianxia Bachang (the pen name of Zhang Muye). It mainly centers around a group of tomb raiders and their adventures.

The movie has chalked several records, including the biggest opening day for a Chinese film ($26.4 million on Friday) and the largest single-day gross for a local 3D title ($35.5 million on Saturday). The film scored 8.0 and 7.7, respectively, on leading reviews sites Mtime and Douban.

 "Point Break" was easily forced out from the top place and slipped to third. It still continued to do perform impressively, however, earning $7.34 million, pushing its 17 day total to $37.9 million.

"The Martian", which was released in late-November, added $3.66 million, pushing its total to $91.5 million after 26 days."The Master" took $3.19 million and now has an 11 day cumulative of $8.23 million. "Impossible" took $2.12 million for a 17 day cumulative of $17.4 million. "Fall In Love Like A Star" took $2.02 million for an 18 day cumulative of $24.8 million. "Forever Love" added 1.93 million for a 10 day cumulative score of $3.30 million. "Our Times" added $1.30 million for a 32 day total of $56.2 million. Bringing up tenth place was 2013 motor race drama "Rush" with $1.25 million, for $3.02 million after 10 days.

Many viewers say the movie Mojin has a chance to set a record for being the highest-grossing movie in China.
