Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) has just showed a part of the rocket Falcon 9 that is capable of being reused once it has come from space. This piece of technology may usher in a new age of space age exploration.
SpaceX launched the Falcon 9 last July in order to deliver and deploy six ORGCOMM OG2 satellites into orbit.

The satellites were deployed to provide customers with faster messaging, larger message sizes, better coverage at higher altitudes, and a dramatically increased network capacity.
This marking the tenth successful launch of the rocket.
However, the unique part of the mission is that it was launched with a completely reusable rocket. This technology was relatively nonexistent until SpaceX started speaking about a successful mission last May.
According to the company, the rocket reentered the Earth's atmosphere and soft-landed in the Atlantic Ocean.
The company was proud to announce that, "This test confirms that the Falcon 9 booster is able consistently to reenter from space at hypersonic velocity, restart main engines twice, deploy landing legs and touch down at near zero velocity."
Elon Musk, SpaceX's founder and CEO, believes that these reusable rockets will significantly reduce the cost of access to space by as much as a factor of 100.
It is his opinion that these innovations will allow for manned exploration of space, and the colonization of Mars becomes an economic possibility.
SpaceX has attempted three first-stage returns during Falcon 9 launches. The first test in September 2013 was a partial success when engineers managed to reignite first stage engines twice, while still hitting the water hard.
The second test in April during the launch of the Dragon cargo capsule to the International Space Station of NASA showed great improvements as the landing was softer, though rough seas still broke it apart before the recovery got to it.
Another test is scheduled for September this year. A SpaceX representative said that they were highly confident that they would be able to land on a floating launch pad or back at the launch pad, while still being able to refly the rocket without required refurbishment.
