Basketball News: Former NBA Player Michael Beasley Bags Player of the Week Award in the CBA

Former NBA player and veteran forward Michael Beasley was named Asia-basket.com Player of the Week for an outstanding game performance for the Shandong FB in the round 20 of the CBA.
Beasley who had a short stint with the Miami Heat in the remainder of the NBA's 2014-15 season posted an impressive double-double performance of 33 points and 14 rebounds in their game against the Shanghai Sharks his former team in the CBA in the last season, leading his team for the 112-96 win.

With the victory, Shandong FB maintains the number six ranking in the Chinese league with 14 wins and 7 loses. The 26-year old veteran forward had a remarkable performance in their last game shooting 68.4 percent from the 2-point range.
Beasley is the CBA ninth-best in the points production averaging 30.9 points per game, he is the seventh-best in the rebound department grabbing 12.0 rebounds per game and producing a solid 1.1 blocks per outing, shooting 58.2 percent from the field.
Beasley is the 2008 NBA draft 2nd overall pick selected by the Miami Heat. He played college basketball for Kansas State University for one year before declaring for the NBA draft.
According to the NBA's official website, in the league's 2014-15 season, the former Wildcats star averages 13.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists, shooting 45 percent from the field and with a 75.9 shooting accuracy form the foul line.
He was a member of the 2009 NBA All-Rookie First Team. Beasley was the 2015 CBA All-Star MVP when he was still playing for the Shanghai Sharks.
Beasley previously played for the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2010 to 2012. He had a short stint with the Phoenix Suns before he was waived by the team in 2013 and returned back to the Miami Heat which reached the NBA Finals but loss to the San Antonio Spurs with the series ending at 4-1.
