In the statement, Belarus challenged the foundations and values of the international community as terrorism continues to affect many parts of the world. Terrorism has become a major threat to peace and stability.
On Sunday, China's top legislature adopted the country's first counter-terrorism law. This is the country's latest attempt to address terrorism and maintain world security.
The legislation was approved by lawmakers after a week-long bimonthly session of the NPC Standing Committee. The new law, which will be enforced beginning of next year, will provide legal support to the country's counter-terrorism activities. More so, it will also strengthen China'd collaboration with the international society, according to an official with the public security ministry.
The law will take charge of identifying terrorist activities and personnel. It will also coordinate nationwide anti-terrorism effort. As such, a national intelligence center will be established to coordinate efforts from departments and other parts of the region.
The state will also provide necessary financial support for regions identified in the country's counter-terrorism plan. Professional anti-terrorists forces will also be established.
Simply put, the law will establish basic principles for counter-terrorism efforts, strengthening measures of prevention, handling, punishment and international cooperation as stated by China's legislator Zhang Dejiang.
A series of deadly terrorist attacks spurred China to speed up the initiative that was first launched in 2011.
