Yin's decision to translate the American presidential debates is out of personal interest, and because of the desire of Chinese citizens to watch them. He describes the debates as a "frenzy." According to him, watching the US presidential debates is like watching a football match; audiences witness several tactics and moves by the candidates. But what matters most is who scores at the end.

Guojiang Subtitle Group translates all the speeches of the candidates. But the process requiresa lot of work. The group focuses on candidates that have good polling outcome and also on fascinating things. After the translations are done, videos with Chinese subtitles are uploaded to the group's Weibo account and then to Chinese video-sharing sites.

According to Yin, Republican debates are more appealing in China. Donald Trump's uncontrolled remarks has reportedly given him the name "big mouth" in China. His statements about China often results in ridicules.

However, there are instances that the candidates' remarks are too much for the Chinese translators. When the group is translating strong statements, they are very careful; if the words are too strong or a bit harsh, they tone them done.

Their video of a Republican debate on August 6, 2015 with Chinese subtitle earned millions of views just days after its release.
