The latest entry into the market of low-end budget Android smartphones is the Meizu M2, launched by one of the top Chinese manufacturers. Priced at under 599 Yuan ($100) , this handset is bound to take the Asian market at super speed.

It is a simple smartphone, which features the best of iPhone technology - as far as the start button is concerned. A single tap is all it takes to go back, and pressing the button takes you to the Home page. This feature needs getting used to in the beginning, but once you are used to it, you will enjoy the experience.

The device has a 5-inch screen display and gives a fairly average performance on the the resolution and colours front. The Meizu M2 is no spectacular. However, it will serve well as a secondary phone for emergencies.

The downside of Meizu M2 is the quality of camera pictures, which is low even though the device has a 13 megapixel rear camera. The plus point of Meizu M2 is its 4G capability and its 2GB of RAM that runs on a 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6735 processor. The interface of Meizu M2 needs getting used to as the device runs on Flyme, and most of us are not familiar with the complex two layered interface.

Meizu M2's storage capacity of 16GB is a boon, and so is the battery life, which is really good considering the number of apps that users are required to download. The battery lasts an entire day even with heavy usage. However, this smartphone is not recommended for game lovers. Meizu M2 also comes with a built-in dual sim card capacity.

It will not be surprising if Meizu M2 gets more than its fair share of buyers in the market, as there is now a general trend of owning a back up phone.
