A local hospital in central China has been bulldozed, leading to the destruction a part of the facility including its morgue. The demolition caused doctors, nurses and even patients to run for their lives and buried six bodies in the morgue under the debris.
On Thursday, Xinhua reported that Zhengzhou University's Fourth Affiliated Hospital in Henan province was partially destroyed because of a land dispute. The demolition was allegedly ordered by the local government after the hospital refused to agree with its road expansion project.

Doctors recalled that up to 30 men wearing camouflage uniforms came in to the hospital and started bulldozing the establishment. "A gaping hole appeard -- the patient was half-scared to death, and ran out," said Liu Chunguang, director of the radiology department of the hospital.
The demolition activity has affected the hospital's radiology equipment. Yuan Fang, a hospital official, claims that they have had to suspend some appointments and ask other patients to transfer to another medical facility. The total damages incurred on its medical facilities and injured staff allegedly worth 20 million yuan.
The falling debris also covered six bodies being prepared in the mortuary. Yuan Fang never thought something like this is possible. "Burying the bodies of patients in rubble is extremely disrespectful to the deceased," Yuan said.
In an online statement released by the Huji District Government Information Office on Thursday evening, the hospital was purportedly given several warnings to evacuate the current location, where its CT room and morgue were located. It further stated that workers made sure no one was inside the facility before they began tearing the building apart. The medical facility was able to move out prior to the bulldozing, and there were no cases of fatality recorded.
On the other hand, medical officials claimed that three of their doctors and one patient were at the building when the incident occurred. Some hospital workers who attempted to stop the demolition were injured.
