Law enforcements and Ferguson security leaders hope that protest altercations are now taking a turning point into peaceful solutions, following a "successful Tuesday night" of protesting with much less tension between people and officers than previous nights.
Violent protests and unrest have been an ongoing occurrence ever since the incident where officer Darren Wilson fatally shot teenager Michael Brown on Aug. 9.

The protests first began with peaceful vigils to honor victims of police brutality, but quickly escalated as officers dressed in riot gear shot off canisters of tear gas into the crowd. That militaristic response is what ignited the looting and violence that's been going on night after night in Ferguson, MO.
During Tuesday night's protest, "agitators" (as Captain Johnson describes them) reportedly were throwing bottles and urine at the police officers, which is what led to 47 arrests being made last night.
However, there weren't any stretches of violence with shots being fired and tear gas being thrown into crowds like previous altercations have shown. Police authorities seemed to act as if they were more restrained from escalating the situation.
The protest ended much earlier than previous nights as well, ending in prayers shortly before midnight. "Now that's what I call a good protest," Jonathan Smith, 45, said. "Ending in a prayer, no gas in the air."
Most of the attention seems to now be focused on the investigation, as many people feel officer Darren Wilson should be indicted and arrested.
Attorney General Eric Holder arrived in Ferguson on Wednesday saying he'll be in collaboration with civil rights leaders, police and members of the public - pledging that the investigation will be full and fair. As many as 40 agents from the FBI have been tasked to investigate the shooting and gather any information that could help in the resolution.
A grand jury will begin Wednesday going over all available evidence involving the case, in hopes of coming to the correct conclusion of what exactly happened during the incident.
