24 People Detained for Making Illegal Drugs in Central China

Police in the central province of Hunan have detained 24 people suspected of producing illegal drugs during a major drug crackdown operation on Wednesday.
A total of 500 kilograms of finished ketamine, 125 kilograms of semi-finished drugs as well as nine tonnes of drug paraphernalia and materials were also seized by officials during the raid.

Hong Zhenkun, the chief police of the Dingcheng District, said officers received an anonymous report on June 4, 2015 that a group of people were producing what they called 'washing powder' in a house that had previously been unoccupied.
When the police first raided the home, the gang successfully fled the area and no arrests were made until the narcotics division of the police arrested a said member of the gang, who helped to locate the other members.
Six suspects were later detained in the Guangdong province last August with the help of Guangdong police officials. In December another 17 members were also detained.
Drugs have been spreading rampantly in the China and sales have been rapidly growing with some drugs being illegally exported to Western countries and other neighboring Asian cities. The designer drugs, which are usually available in night clubs across the country, are also been said to be available online under pseudo names that make them sound like regular medications.
Reports indicate that youngsters in China are slowly embracing the drug culture. THey are usually the ones that purchase designer drugs online and at clubs.
