The late Anna Nicole Smith's family has been denied of their attempt to claim the supposed $44 million inheritance of the late Playboy model from her husband, J Howard Marshall II.
Last August 18, the federal judge presiding over the case in Orange County, rejected the family's last chance to claim a part of J Howard Marshall II's wealth.

It has been a long standing feud, starting from court battles between the oil magnate's son Pierce Marshall and the former Playboy model over Marshall's last will and testament following his death 19 years ago.
According to reports in the past, Anna Nicole Smith claimed that her husband, J Howard Marshall II, has promised to leave her a $300-million inheritance. However, the verdict in the Texas court where the case was heard ruled that the oil tycoon had been mentally able when he decided to remove the model's name from his will.
Anna Nicole Smith has left behind a seven-year old daughter after her death in 2007. Dannielynn, her daughter, is now under the custody of her father, Larry Birkhead, who proved his paternity through a DNA test.
Larry Birkhead is now spearheading the court battles on Anna Nicole Smith's inheritance, stating in previous reports that it was for the welfare and rights of his daughter with the model.
The judge has made his decision, stating that Pierce Marshall's legal team has exhibited disinterest and neglected proper ethics in court, but also cited that Larry Birkhead's legal team did not provide enough significant evidences for the jury to be in his favor.
The presiding judge also stated that it is not practical and is not reasonable for the court battles over the wealth to push through in the future.
Pierce Marshall's legal representative has then since commented that his client would have been happy to hear about the news, following his death in 2006.
