Top 10 Mobile Apps in China Based on Active Monthly Users

China Unicom has released a list of the most used mobile apps in China based on the amount of active monthly users. The company collected data through its network to rank the apps, allowing Chinese users know the market size of their favorite apps.
Tencent's mobile messaging app WeChat was ranked first on the list with 534.99 million monthly active users, while QQ International came second with 511.86 million monthly active users.

The ever increasing number of smartphone users in China has attracted mobile app developers to the country. A survey conducted by GSMA Intelligence shows that smartphones accounted for up to 68 per cent of the estimated 1.3 billion mobile connections in the world's second-largest economy by the end of the year 2015. There are an estimated 691 million smartphone users in mainland China and that number is expected to rise.
According to China Unicom, the top 10 apps in the country are:
10. PPS video (125.28 million monthly active users)
9. Baidu map (141.78 million monthly active users)
8. iQiyi video (iQiyi video million monthly active users)
7. Tencent video (151.54 million monthly active users)
6. Alipay (153.02 million monthly active users)
5. Mobile Baidu (164.71 million monthly active users)
4. Sogou Input (165.7 million monthly active users)
3. Mobile Taobao (184.24 million monthly active users)
2. QQ (511.86 million monthly active users)
1. WeChat ( 534.99 million monthly active users)
