The family of beloved actor Robin Williams thought it best to cremate his remains and scatter his ashes off the coast of Marin County.
The public was not informed right away of his cremation because the family sought privacy.
Information about the way the actor was laid to rest was obtained by Radar Online from his death certificate dated Wednesday.

Monte's Chapel of the Hills in San Rafael was listed as the funeral home who helped Williams' family lay the actor to rest.
Williams' cause of death was listed as "pending" in the death certificate. However, the coroner deemed his death a suicide.
Robin Williams' wife Susan Schneider shared with the public that the comedian was struggling with depression and anxiety and that his "sobriety was intact". She also shared that unbeknownst to most, Williams was diagnosed as having the early stages of Parkinson's disease.
"This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken," Schneider shared after news broke that her husband had passed away.
Robin Williams' daughter, Zelda Williams, took to Twitter after he died to express her sorrow, sharing a quote from "The Little Prince."
She tweeted, "You - you alone will have the stars as no one else has them," the quote read. "In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night...You - only you - will have stars that can laugh."
The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards will pay tribute to Williams during the event's telecast on Monday. The tribute will be led by Williams' longtime friend, Billy Crystal.
