Brazilian midfielder Ramires had reportedly completed his £25 million move to Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning FC on Wednesday to end speculations of whether he will stay with reigning English Premier League champions Chelsea FC after signing a four-year extension last October.

Daily Mail Online reported that the 28-year-old Brazil international, who "has not started in the Premier League since the 2-1 defeat by Leicester City on December 14" last year, has decided to move to the Chinese side "on a permanent basis".

It was also said that Ramires drew the attention of world-famous European champion clubs Paris Saint-Germain of France and Germany's Bayern Munich, but the Barra do Piraí, Brazil native had chosen to go to the far eastern nation instead.

Ramires will now be under the guidance of a fellow Brazilian, Dan Petrescu, as the head coach of the Nanjing, Jiangsu squad.

He was acquired by Chelsea in August 2010 from Portuguese club SL Benfica for a fee of £19.8 million.

Ramires stayed for six seasons with the Fulham, London residents and had been instrumental in Chelsea winning "every major domestic and European trophy during his time at the club". He appeared in a total of 246 games for the Blues, including two FA Community Shield games in 2012 and 2015, scoring 37 points in all competitions.

"I would like to say thanks to Chelsea and their fans for all good moments that I have lived here," Ramires posted in his social media account. "I'm proud to have written my name in the club's history with titles, especially the Champions League."

The central midfielder joins a growing number of Brazilian players who have moved to China during this January transfer window.
