Former NBA player Jamaal Franklin of Shanxi Zhonghu Brave Dragons is now among the hottest names in the league and has been an outstanding all-around player in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league.
Franklin came to the pre-eminent men's professional basketball league in Asia as a replacement for the injured former Dallas Mavericks guard Dominique Jones in the mid season of the tournament. According to Asia-Basket, the San Diego State University standout has arguably been the Most Valuable Player of the league, having average of triple-doubles and leading his team to a six-game winning streak.

Shanxi Zhongyu Brave Dragons currently sit in the 10th and 11th place, having similar team standing with the Dongguan Leopards of 16 wins and 18 loses. The club is unlikely to make the playoffs this year, despite the herculean effort of the American reinforcement Franklin.
The former Nuggets shooting guard is now a hot commodity in the CBA circle, as different teams scrambled during the offseason to sign the 24-year-old basketball player. Franklin has astonishing stats. He has notched 22 assists in an official game and hold the best average in the league (Best#1 -10.6 apg).
Franklin is also the CBA's leader in steal, having an average of 3.3 steals per game. He is the league's fifth best in scoring, producing 33.1 points per game. He has registered six triple-double performances out of his 14 games played.
Franklin is the 2013 NBA draft 41st overall pick selected by the Memphis Grizzlies. Despite of not appearing for the franchise in the 2013 NBA Summer League, Franklin signed with the Grizzlies. He was assigned to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Developmental League during his rookie season. The ballclub waived Franklin on August 2014.
The former NBA player may have just come in a little bit late for the Shanxi Zhongyu ballclub, but the impact that Franklin has made will surely leave a lasting impression in the CBA.
