Basketball News: Former NBA Player Michael Beasley Bags Another Player of the Week Award in CBA League

Former NBA player Michael Beasley has been named Asia-basket.com Player of the Week for an outstanding game performance for the Shandong Gold Star in round 33 of the CBA.
Beasley, who is coming fresh from a sensational record-breaking 63 points performance in the recent CBA All-Stars Game, had another very impressive double-double game performance, scoring 40 points and grabbing 19 rebounds to lead his team to a lopsided 32-point margin 131-99 victory against the Qingdao Eagles.

With the win, the Gold Star maintain their hold on the third place of the league's team standings with 26 wins and 8 loses. They are just one victory behind the current table leaders Xinjiang Flying Tigers and Liaoning Flying Leopards with both teams having the same 27-7 record.
The 26-year-old American forward had a remarkable 82.4 percent shooting from the 2-point range in the team's last game. He is in the league's top scorers being the 8th best with 32.1 points production per game average. The former Heat player is also the CBA's fourth best rebounder averaging 13.4 rebounds per outing. Beasley averages 1.2 shot blocks per game and has a 57.6 field goal percentage.
Beasley is the 2008 NBA draft 2nd overall pick selected by the Miami Heat. He played college basketball for Kansas State University for one year before declaring for the NBA draft.
According to the NBA's official website, in the league's 2014-15 season, the former Wildcats star averaged 13.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists, shooting 45 percent from the field and with a 75.9 shooting accuracy form the foul line.
Beasley played for the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2010 to 2012. He had a short stint with the Phoenix Suns before he was waived by the team in 2013 and traded to Miami Heat.
He is a two-time CBA All-Star MVP, claiming the feat in 2015 and 2016.
