Hong Kong actor Lai Lok Yi reflects on his 11-year career as an actor and shares insights about how his life had been before and after he became the celebrity everyone knows.
Lai Lok Yi has first appeared in the drama 'Aqua Heroes' back in 2003 after finishing the artist training class under TVB. It was his very first project as an actor and he starred alongside Edwin Siu and Bosco Wong for said production.

After 'Aqua Heroes', Lai Lok Yi began starring in different projects, being cast as the leading man in the idol drama 'Hearts of Fencing' which featured mostly rookie actors.
2014 marks Lai Lok Yi's 11th year anniversary as an actor. The 34-year old actor has been featured in 40 TV dramas and four movies, all of which had different degrees of success.
When asked what his favorite drama was among all the 40 he has starred in, the actor, without hesitation, chose 'Hearts of Fencing'. Lai Lok Yi claimed that the drama was the one that helped him get a spur on his career, turning him from a nobody to a famous star.
Lai Lok Yi added that he holds the drama close to his heart as it had been rather special. The production for 'Hearts of Fencing' has insisted on using new artists only. Until now, TVB hasn't produced any drama quite like it, particularly on their choice of cast members.
"We were all a bunch of rookies then. We didn't know what to do and we shared that confusion together," the actor stated, but added that the cast members were all happy while filming for the drama.
Though the actor claimed that they would have wanted to change many things in the drama, he said that the sincerity of the rookie artists was the one that gave the drama its distinct characteristic.
Lai Lok Yi has also shared a few words of wisdom, saying that the best advice he could give was for newcomers to always be mindful of what they had to say.
The actor has related an experience about trying to make the atmosphere lighter in a filming set, but in turn, he was misunderstood and labeled as a rude newcomer.
He said, "Your words may be mindless but others may take offense. Always think before you speak."
