After five of its members have been tried on Thursday for beating a woman to death for refusing to join, the Church of Almighty God breaks its silence stating that the accusations were lies and were "layered with dubious facts."
Reports indicate that the cult members of the Church of Almighty God had battered to death a 35-year-old woman at a McDonald's branch in Shandong after she refused join them in May.

"She is an evil spirit. We are not afraid of the law. We have faith in God," Zhang Lidong, one of the five who were arrested for the death of the woman at McDonald's stated.
Several reports of coercion and kidnapping linking the group came forth after its establishment in Shandong by a former physics teacher Zhao Weishan.
Zhao had fled China 14 years ago after being put on the wanted list for all the crimes linking his group that has the same belief as Christians except one thing-the Church of Almighty God believe that Jesus was reincarnated in the form of a woman.
The 40-year-old Christ-incarnate is Yang Xiangbin who was coincidentally the founder's wife.
According to the group's beliefs, Yang Xiangbin, who was also known as Lightning Deng, had risen to bring about the apocalypse to mankind.
Currently, reports indicate that the group is particularly targeting Christian Congregation members and housewives.
Peng Lijuan, a 28-year-old computer science graduate, had disappeared a day after Chinese New Year as her husband believed that she ran off to join the 'most radical cult' in China.
"It begins just like normal Christianity, with no difference at all. But when you get more involved, they introduce the theory of [Mrs Yang] being 'Almighty God'," Peng's husband explained referring to the group's teachings.
He also claimed that after six months of repetition of the teachings, the Church can brainwash a new member. Also, the group openly threatens those who think of quitting.
Also known as the Eastern Lighting, the cult made use of the Internet to 'spread the word,' featuring a well-prepared website written in both Chinese and English.
Their main goal is to kill members of the Communist party they refer to as 'The Great Red Dragon.'
