Football Transfer News: Frenchman Gael Kakuta Set to Join Hebei China Fortune

(Photo : gettyimages.com) Gael Kakuta joins a growing list of high profile foreign professional football players who have shifted course to the East.
Spanish La Liga side Sevilla has announced the exit of French left winger Gael Kakuta from the club as the footballer is set to join the newly-promoted Chinese Super League outfit Hebei China Fortune for a reported $5.5 million transfer deal.
Kakuta became part of the Spanish football club last summer from Rayo Vallecano. He has played just 184 minutes for Sevilla. The four-time UEFA Europa League champions Sevilla have confirmed that a deal has been struck for the 24-year-old Frenchman to continue his career in China.

Kakuta joins a growing list of high profile foreign professional football players who have shifted course to the East.
Kakuta started his career with local club US Lille-Moulins. He played for the French football side Racing Club de Lens from 1999 to 2007 prior to becoming a player of the youth team of Chelsea Football Club.
On September 2009, he was included in the Champions League squad by then Chelsea's Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti. The French footballer made his Premier League debut against the Wolverhampton Wanderers on November 21, 2009 and his Champions League kick off game was against the Greek professional football club APOEL in December of the same year.
Kakuta was loaned to several football clubs including Fulham, Bolton Wanderers, Dijon, Vitesse, Lazio and Rayo Vallecano before joining Sevilla following his release by Chelsea in June 2015.
The former Chelsea winger will be joining the Ivory Coast football star and former Arsenal striker Gervinho from AS Roma of the Italian Serie A, who recently transferred to club for an undisclosed fee.
Recently, Hebei China Fortune also signed a deal for the Cameroonian captain and former Marseille center-back Stephane Mbia to move to China.
Hebei China is a Qinhuangdao-based side is a professional football club that was recently promoted to participate in the country's top domestic league, the Chinese Super League. The outfit finished second place in the last season of the China League One.
