French reporter Didier François, who was held captive by ISIS along with James Foley, revealed a chilling inside look into the militant group's treatment of hostages which included mock executions and physical torture.
Earlier this week, a barbaric video showing journalist James Foley's execution at the hands of ISIS jihadists was released on YouTube, destroying his family's hopes that the journalist would one day return home safely.

It was revealed Thursday that Foley suffered extensively at the hands of his captors who beat him and subjected him to psychological torture through mock executions.
François witnessed the brutality in person, later stating that Foley faced worse treatment after ISIS militants discovered his brother was a U.S. airman who served in Afghanistan.
Even then, according to the French journalist, Foley didn't crack under pressure and was "one of the pillars of the group."
Nicolas Henin, another French hostage, revealed that Foley managed to escape at one point but was captured and brought back. Henin believes that this may have also contributed to the harsh treatment the American faced, but in the end "had no real chance," he said.
Henin was also particularly sickened by the grisly video, stating that he had worn the exact same shoes Foley was wearing when he died. According to his statement, the hostages all shared a few pairs of shoes between them when they had to use the bathroom.
The Frenchman also voiced his admiration towards how Foley behaved in his final moments, stating that despite what must have been a terrifying final moments, "(he) was still standing up, looking forward and speaking with a clear voice."
Still being held captive by ISIS is another American journalist, 31-year-old Steven Sotloff, who the jihadists have threatened to execute unless President Barack Obama stops air strikes in Iraq. However, Obama has made good on his promise to continue carrying out airstrikes in strategic locations in an attempt to halt the advancement of the militant sect.
