Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg displayed his Mandarin skills on Monday in a video together with his wife Priscilla Chan and two-month-old daughter Max, as they extended warm greetings to everyone for the Lunar New Year.

"Happy New Year!" he greeted in a subtitled video. "Priscilla and I are very excited to celebrate our first Lunar New Year with Max."

"We hope on this holiday, you are also spending it with your family and friends," Priscilla added.

With Max dressed in a traditional red and gold outfit, the couple also announced her Chinese name: Chen Mingyu. Zuckerberg explained that Chen came from Priscilla's family name Chan, and Mingyu (which means bright jade) symbolizes hope for the world's brighter future. Meanwhile, her American name Maxima Chan Zuckerberg was coined after Zuckerberg's great granfathers, namely, Max Zuckerberg and Marcus "Max" Hollander.

Zuckerberg hosted a number of well-known chefs from China to whip up a variety of cuisines for everyone at Facebook to welcome the new year. Of the dishes, Zuckerberg revealed that duck was his favorite. The Zuckerberg family celebrated their new year with other members of the family with a reunion dinner.

In a message posted on Sunday, Zuckerberg said he hopes that everyone may find good health, happiness and good fortune in the Year of the Monkey. 

The video showing a Chinese speaking Zuckerberg should not come as a surprise to everyone. The Facebook creator has been studying Mandarin for years. In 2015, he also posted a Lunar New Year message, and several months after, he also did his first public speaking engagement in Mandarin.

At the time of writing, the video now has 27 million views, more than 1.2 million likes and over 175,000 shares.
