NBA News: Sacramento Kings Keep George Karl Following Series of Coaches Lay Off

(Photo : gettyimages.com) The Sacramento Kings have decided to retain George Karl after a meeting with GM Vlade Divac.
Head coaches being fired by their club's management is becoming a trend in the National Basketball Association this season.
In the recent events five different head bench tacticians have been given the sack to vacate their coaching post.
On June 2011, The Houston Rockets named the Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Kevin McHale head coach to replace Rick Adelman. The former Boston Celtic star guided the Rockets to the Western Conference last season. On November 18, 2015, McHale was the first coach to be sacked this season after a 4-7 start of the season, losing four successive blowout games.

One-time All-Star Lionel Hollins was hired by the Brooklyn Nets to be the team's head coach on July 2014. Hollins led the Nets to the Eastern Conference Playoff in his first season with the team. After coaching the Nets for almost one-and-a-half years, he was fired on January 2016 after a 10-27 record for this season.
2014 Euro league Coach of the Year David Blatt was appointed to the top coaching of the Cleveland Cavaliers in June 2014. He ushered the LeBron James-led Cavs to the 2015 Eastern Conference championship and to the NBA Finals as a rookie NBA coach. Cleveland eventually loss to the Golden States Warriors 4-2.
Almost after two weeks following the sacking of Hollins on January 22, 2016, the Israeli-American Blatt was given the pink slip by the Cavaliers. He left Cleveland with the best record in the East with 30 wins and 11 losses.
The former Utah Jazz starter Jeff Hornacek was named the head coach of the Phoenix Suns on May 28, 2013. He was later on booted out on February 1, 2016.
Derek Fisher was also relieved from his coaching post after over a season and a half with the Knicks on February 8, 2016.
Today, the name of George Karl is making rounds. Many reports have suggested that he might be the latest coach to be fired this season. However, according to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Kings have decided to retain Karl after a meeting with GM Vlade Divac.
