Recent trade rumors are out regarding a possible Hassan Whiteside-Greg Monroe swap as the Miami Heat are reportedly "fielding offers" for the young center who is set for a huge pay increase as he becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer.

The 26-year-old former Marshall standout is set to earn $981,000 this season, his last year of the two-year, $1.75 million deal he signed with the Heat in 2014-2015.

With his performance worth a lot more than what he is currently earning, 12.2 points and 11.0 rebounds per game and a runaway league-leading 3.9 blocks per game, NBA analysts are anticipating that he will command a max or a close to max contract once he becomes a free agent this July.

Whiteside is indeed a bargain for Miami, taking into consideration what he is currently contributing to the three-time NBA champions. But that financial steal is about to change this offseason.

Hoops Habit's Maxwell Ogden noted that the 7-foot-0 center "has put Miami in a difficult position from both a financial and structural perspective. He projects to fall outside of their price range this coming summer, and is attempting to balance his status as both a vital asset and a liability".

Ogden proceeded to suggest a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks involving another center, Greg Monroe.

The Bucks are reportedly "trying to trade" Monroe "just six months after giving him $50 million" as the 6-foot-11 big man has ended up unfit on Milwaukee's defensive system, as per SB Nation.

While Monroe remains a productive center, currently averaging a career-high 16.7 points and contributing 9.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in 52 games so far for the Bucks, his defense is said to be "as poor as anticipated", which made the Bucks fall into 13th place in the Eastern Conference this season with a 21-32 record after entering the playoffs last year.

Ogden said that if Milwaukee is really planning to trade Monroe, then exchanging him for Whiteside is not "the worst idea".

Whiteside would be a marked improvement in interior defense for the Bucks while Monroe will be the inside scorer and facilitator that the Heat has been looking for all these time.

Monroe is just in the first year of the three-year, $51.4 million contract he signed with the Bucks last summer, which means the Heat is ensured of his long-term commitment if the trade pushes through.
