A man in South China has been detained for firing at elderly women who was taking part in a public square dance, saying that he was fed up with the loud music outside his home.
Group dances in public, usually involving elderly women or grandmas, are popular in China. However, it has also drawn the ire of many residents where the dances are being held because of the loud music and usually rowdy sessions.

The man, only identified as Mo, fired three shots using an air rifle on March 3 at a group of 'dancing grandmas' at Yangshuo County in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Mo's initial request to turn down the music was reportedly snubbed and ridiculed by the old women.
The woman who was operating the stereo speaker was shot in the leg, but Mo claims that he was aiming at the speaker and not at the woman.
Mo fled from the scene and was caught six days later at a neighboring province. Authorities said that Mo has been detained on charges of endangering public safety and may face additional charges for illegal possession of firearms.
The group of women were reportedly practicing for a dance routine that they will perform in celebration of International Women's Day on March 8.
