CBA Quarterfinal Round 2: Guandong Southern Tigers, Xinjiang Flying Tigers Lead Series 2-0

Former NBA player Michael Beasley's impressive double-double game did not help the Golden Stars to even the series as Guandong fired past Shandong to take a commanding 2-0 lead on Wednesday evening.
Beasley, who is a back-to-back CBA All-Star Game MVP, registered another great performance of 37 points, 15 rebounds with 2 assists. But it was not enough to score a victory against the mighty Southern Tigers, who pounded the Golden Stars 130-111 win their game number two of the quarterfinals of the league.

Nigeria -American Ike Diogu paced Guandong with team-high 35 points and 12 rebounds, while the Chinese basketball superstar and former NBA player Jianlian Yi contributed 24 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
Zhu Fangyu and Zhou Peng added 23 points and 21 points respectively, while American reinforcement Justin Carter chipped in 11 points and 8 assists for the winners.
The Southern Tigers have an amazing 61.1 field goal percentage and connected 19 three-pointers on high 59.4 percent shooting accuracy during the game. The winning team also displayed good ball movement and better team work offensively with team-combined 28 assists compared to the Shandong's 12 passes.
Meanwhile, Xinjiang Flying Tigers held off the defending champion Beijing Ducks with a close 104-101 triumph to secure a 2-0 lead at the series.
Gilas Pilipinas hotshot Andray Blatche topped all scorers and rebounders of the night with an outstanding double-double game performance of a game-high 37 points and 13 rebounds to go along with 5 assist as he steered Xinjiang closer to the semifinal round of the league.
Chinese NBA prospect Zhou Qi added 21 points and 12 rebounds, while American guard Bryce Cotton dropped 12 points for the victors of the rubber match.
Former NBA star Stephon Marbury scored a team-high 32 points, while Atlanta Hawks player Randolph Morris finished the night with 17 points for the Beijing Ducks.
Beijing's Sun Yue and Ji Zhe chipped in 18 points and 17 points respectively.
