Despite persistent online rumors that the police are holding a list of at least 120 celebrities in Hong Kong and Taiwan that are allegedly involved in drug scandals, the Beijing police denied having such a list.

On its official Sina Weibo account, the Beijing police also denied reports of an imminent crackdown against celebrities based on the list and following the arrest of Jackie Chan's son, Jaycee Chan.

Sina.com earlier reported that the arrest of Jaycee was the start of a police campaign against the 120 big celebrities in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the mainland.

Jaycee and Kai Ko, a Taiwan actor, were caught on August 14 smoking marijuana in Beijing. Police later seized more than 110 grams of the drug in Chan's downtown apartment.

Aside from Jaycee, the police have also busted big-named celebrities involved in illegal drugs this year. The busts include actor Gao Hu, Zhang Mo, scriptwriter Ning Caishen and singer Li Daimo.

The report said three more entertainers have been targetted by police, including an actor identified as C - the first letter of his surname - who is on good terms with Jaycee and popular both in Taiwan and the mainland.

The other two were a male singer and a heartthrob actor respectively identified as C and H.

The agent of Taiwan actor Chen Bo-Lin, who has been widely suspected by netizens to have been involved in the scandal given his close relationship with Jaycee and his surname that starts with "C", announced Chen would cooperate for related investigation to prove his innocence.

The announcement was made after Chen's commercial activity in Hefei was cancelled.

The police insisted that there was not bargaining agreement with Jaycee, who allegedly ratted on his friends to secure a lighter penalty.

The Beijing police said its campaign against illegal drugs is based on the basis of facts and not just by mere identification by other sources.
