The MateBook's pricing is expected to start from $699 for the most basic configuration, including an m3 processor, 4 GB of RAM and a 128 GB SSD. Users will have to shell $129 extra for keyboard, while a stylus and a dock will cost $69 and $99 more respectively.
The MateBook reportedly sports a 33.7Wh high-density Lithium battery. According to Huawei, this should allow the MateBook to work for 10 hours continuously. The MateBook will have a fast-charging mode that will have the capacity to charge the battery to 60 percent in barely two hours.
The MateBook will feature only one camera, which has a 5 MP resolution.
Huawei announced that this 2 in 1 Windows tablet will hit the markets in Asia, Europe, and North America in coming the months. The MateBook will be available in two variants, grey and white. It will be available with both Window 10 Home and Professional.
Huawei's last major release was the Nexus 6P, a high-end smartphone co-developed along with Google. The device was well received across global markets. With the MateBook, it is obvious that Huawei is veering into a non-traditional market to boost its sales and revenue.
