After a suspenseful month, Kevin Love has been officially traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Love's move was negotiated by three teams: the Cavaliers, his former team - the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Philadelphia 76ers.
The trade began with the Cavaliers sending their former number one draft picks, 6'8 small forward Anthony Bennett and 6'8 shooting guard and small forward Andrew Wiggins, to the Timberwolves.

In addition, the Timberwolves also got a first round pick while also getting a trade exception worth US $6.3 million.
The 76ers on the other hand will be re-retrieving shooting or point guard Alexey Shved, and small or power forward Luc Mbah a Moute from the Timberwolves. They also get a first round pick.
In turn, power forward Thaddeus Young was traded to the Timberwolves after seven years of playing in Philadelphia. Young will help the rebuilding process after the trade of Love.
With the recent trade, the Cavaliers have established a "big three" with Lebron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love.
David Griffin, the general manager of the Cavaliers, said that Love's signing represented a unique opportunity for their team.
"At only 25, Kevin has already firmly established himself as one the NBA's elite players and his talent, versatility and fit are major parts of our team's vision for success," he said.
Love is coming out of a great season, averaging 26.1 points, 4.4 assists, 12.5 rebounds, and shooting 37.6 % from the three-point line.
Even though Love's performance could arguably be called his best to date, the Timberwolves finished 40-42 last season and did not make it to the playoffs in the Western Conference.
They are also joined by recently signed free agents Shawn Marion, James Jones, and Mike Miller, who was with James in Miami, and was also a previous teammate to Kevin Love.
All of these veteran players have championships on their resume.
