Man Fatally Shot at Wiz Khalifa Concert

Wiz Khalifa's Friday night concert in Mountain View, California was marred by a fatal shooting incident that claimed the life of a 38-year old man.
Mountain View police who rushed to the scene around 11:05 p.m. said the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died at a hospital on Saturday.

The police declined to reveal the victim's name but ABC-7, in an interview with friends and family of the victim, identified him as Eric Johnson from Oakland.
Spokeswoman Shinto Tanaka of the Mountain View police said they are investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting, and what the motive might have been. She described the shooter as a black man in his early 20s, short-haired, 5'6 to 5'8 tall, and wore black shirt, white pants and a red baseball cap.
Witnesses said the shooting happened backstage immediately after the concert. Police said that the weapon used by the suspect might have been a black pistol with a large magazine.
Witness Jamie Cooper, who was at the concert, said they were walking toward the parking lot when they heard the shots fired.
Khalifa was performing to a packed crowd of over 20,000 at the Shoreline Amphitheater as part of his "Under the Influence of Music" tour.
Following the Friday night concert shooting incicent, organizers decided to cancel the rapper's scheduled Saturday concert at Chula Vista near San Diego, but said is concert in Irvine on Sunday will push through.
"Violence is not the answer. My prayers go out to the victim's family," Khalifa said in his Twitter account.
Police, meanwhile, are seeking help from social media for any additional information related to the shooting.
They're urging people who may have witnessed the shooting to call 650-903-6395; send an e-mail to police@mountainview.gov; send an anonymous text to 274637 using the code MVTips together with their message; or post videos or messages on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #MVPDInfo.
