Iran’s revolutionary guards announced on Sunday that they shot down an Israeli spy drone as it tried to infiltrate Natanz’ off-limits nuclear area, Iran published a statement on its website.
According to the Iran’s revolutionary guard corps’ statement, a ground-to-air missile struck the Israeli stealth drone as it approached the Natanz nuclear enrichment site, more than 300 km south of Tehran.

The corps also said that the Zionist regime’s act exposed Israel’s audacious temperament that added to their crime records and so Iran’s armed forces reserve the right to respond against it.
However, Iran’s statement did not clarify when the aircraft was shut down, nor did it elaborate how they knew it was from Israel, some reports confirmed.
An Israeli spokesman told the media that the Israeli military forces do not give comments or reaction on such foreign media reports.
Based on some reports, Israel often threatened to attack Iran's nuclear facilities because of the fear that it is developing a comprehensive nuclear program to build weapons, but Tehran consistently denies the allegation.
The Natanz site is the central plant for Iran’s uranium enrichment that operates over 5,000 centrifuges. Iran said they want to keep its nuclear facilities for peaceful purposes, referring to their medical and energy supplies need.
But Natanz nuclear activities were temporarily halted due to the six-month interim agreement with International Atomic Energy Authority (IAEA) and the six world powers which composed of Britain, China, U.S, France, Russia, and Germany, reports said.
Last July, reports said that the deal was extended by four months until November 24 to give both parties additional time to negotiate over Iran's controversial nuclear program.
Meanwhile, Iran accused Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad for its involvement in Iran’s nuclear scientists’ assassination and attacking its nuclear sites with computer viruses. But Israel declined to comment on the issue, some reports confirmed.
