Taiwanese actor Kai Ko will be banned from the Chinese media industry according to announcements made by The State Administration of Radio Film and Television of China in lieu to his arrest after being involved in a drug scandal with Jaycee Chan.
According to media reports, it has got to be the harshest ruling set by authorities for celebrities and could be a detriment to their careers.

It has been reported that 'Tiny Times 4' production, the most recent film Kai Ko was cast in as the male lead, would be editing his parts out before releasing it in theatres. The 23-year old actor supposedly plays a big role in the film. However, Guo Jingming, the director of the film, has yet to confirm whether the actor would be edited out.
Aside from issues of being removed from the production of 'Tiny Times 4', 10 out of Kai Ko's 11 endorsement deals, including KFC China, are said to be planning to terminate the actor's contract while a chewing gum company he advertises for will still investigate on the matter, passing judgment before deciding to entirely pull him out of the endorsement deal.
In other reports, it was said that Kai Ko was already able to meet his family members at the facility where he is being detained, six days into his supposes 14-day detention. According to Taiwanese media reports, Kai Ko has been visited by his parents, his brother and Angie Chai, his manager.
The visit had been rather emotional with Kai Ko and his mother hugging each other and breaking down. On the other hand, the actor's father had only advised his son to face the consequences of his deeds bravely and to take responsibility as he should.
Kai Ko apologized profusely to those who had visited him on that day for letting them down, including his company and fans. He has also expressed his worries that his deeds would affect the public's view on 'Tiny Times 4' as well as his company's reputation.
Additionally, he had written the Chinese character 'Zheng', which means 'upright', on the wall of his detention chamber, using it as a means to count the number of days he would be spending in the facility.
