Hong Kong actor Sammy Sum loves being evil in his dramas and films as he had gained recognition from his very convincing roles as villains in different productions throughout his career as an actor.

Sammy Sum has been widely known for his versatility in acting, portraying various roles over his years of being an actor. The TVB actor has played roles ranging from a love-obsessed gangster to professional cop. However, the roles that left the deepest impression to the public were that of his portrayal of evil characters.

The actor has also shared that other actors would turn down villain roles in fear that it might affect their public image, but he said that he doesn't mind playing such roles. Additionally, Sammy Sum said that portraying such roles allowed him to feel what it is like to live a different kind of life he has also deemed more exciting.

The TVB actor recalls a time when an elderly woman suddenly approached him and told him that she recognized him for one of his villain roles. The woman told him that he was so bad in his role that it made him great at acting.

The actor, also a singer, is known to be very eloquent when it comes to translating his roles. He tried different changes in his looks in order to portray his characters' visual better. He applies the same kind of approach in his music, dyeing his hair a lighter gold color and growing beard for a different look for the release of his new music video 'Dearest'.

The actor has also stated that he likes maintaining a stubble as it looks more original. "It's not because I'm lazy, but I find it more comfortable. My facial hair grows really fast," Sammy Sum said, adding that it was a hassle shaving it off when it would come back the next day.

According to him, he is willing to sacrifice another look transformation for his upcoming role in the new drama 'Cross the Finish Line' wherein he has to have a more clean-cut and younger look.
