Historically speaking, Apple launches its product during the third quarter of every year. Therefore, rumors have been saying the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 will be unveiled on October.

Some reports say Apple will host a special launch event for the iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2 in October before the availability of the devices in November.

The iPad Mini 3 isn't likely to have a name similar to the iPad Mini since there's already an iPad Mini Retina.

Rumors say the new iPad will be called the iPad Mini Air. It will be about 30 percent thinner compared to iPad Mini 2 and will likely to be 5.25 mm thick.

Rumors also say it will have an A8 processor and an 8Mp iSight camera. The price will also be the same as with the iPad Mini Retina.

In addition, the iPad Air 2 is believed to have 2 GB RAM and will have a split-screen multitasking capability. The new tablet will also run the iOS 8.

Other rumors say it's now being mass produced and will be unveiled at the end of Q3 or early Q4.

The supply might be limited at first because production has encountered problems with the anti-reflective coating on the screen.

Touch ID fingerprint sensor will also be added to iPad Air 2.

There are no comments from Apple, Inc. regarding rumors of the features of the next iPad generation.
