Just when you thought Miley Cyrus would be causing a scandalous stir in the recent MTV Video Music Awards, she actually does something heartwarming.
In an aww-worthy move, Cyrus had her homeless friend, Jesse, take the stage and accept her award for her. Cyrus won "Video of the Year" with her smash hit, "Wrecking Ball" - beating heavyweights such as Beyoncé, Iggy Azalea, Pharell Williams and Sia..

Jesse, all dressed up in a suit, was Cyrus' date for the night. Cyrus' main purpose for asking Jesse to take the microphone was so that he could put the plight of homeless youth on the spotlight.
Jesse began his speech by introducing himself.
"Thank you all - my name is Jesse, and I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million homeless youth," he shared, reading his notes.Cyrus watched her friend as she tried to hold back tears.
Jesse continued, "I've survived in shelters all over. ... Though I may have been invisible to you in the streets, I have the same dreams as many of you."
Jess shared that that Los Angeles, the entertainment capital of the world, with the music industry making over $7 million in 2014. While others enjoy wealth beyond measure, Los Angeles also has the biggest homeless youth population in America.
After his speech, Jesse asked people to go to Cyrus' page where they can find out how to donate to My Friend's Place, a homeless shelter in Hollywood.
While Twitter blew up with criticisms of Cyrus' performance last year, this year social media users had a totally different opinion about the singer.
One user tweeted, "Gained a little more respect for Miley Cyrus," while another one shared, "So much respect for Miley for what she did tonight. You're the modern day mother teresa @mileycyrus."
While Cyrus is hardly today's Mother Teresa, what the singer did was pretty admirable.
