Businesses in downtown Napa Valley are determined to be back open for business despite being some of the hardest hit by the magnitude 6.0 earthquake that shook the region Sunday.
The earthquake was the hardest to hit the Bay Area since 1989 and at least 172 people were treated for injuries such as cuts from shattered glass and conditions aggravated by stress and anxiety due to the quake.

Hundreds of homes were affected by the tremor, leaving cracked foundations, falling chimneys, and broken windows. At least 100 houses and buildings have been deemed uninhabitable as fire crews work around the clock to restore power and water to affected communities.
A state of emergency was declared by Gov. Jerry Brown because of the damage and power outages in Napa. Schools were ordered to remain closed on Monday as aftershocks are expected to continue for the next few weeks.
Downtown Napa Valley was hard hit with many older, historical structures too damaged to allow workers inside.
Despite the cleanup that needs to be done, many business owners and residents are keeping their morale up and are looking forward to re-opening their shops on Monday.
Tourists are already back on their bikes and walking in the streets, weaving around debris that has yet to be cleared and avoiding areas that have been roped off by emergency crews.
Wine and olive oil bottlers are sweeping up hundreds of broken bottles off their floors and gas stations are getting batteries and generators fired up to start pumping gas again.
Everybody is doing their part to get back on their feet. Shops are getting friends and family to help with repairs and clean up in order to open their doors and be ready to receive customers and clients safely.
Overall, business owners say they are doing fine and are happy that mostly only minor injuries were reported due to the earthquake and no fatalities occurred.
