Despite the shock brought about by the death of American journalist, James Foley, recent updates from forensic experts alleged that the video of the beheading was staged.
In a statement released by the UK Times, several forensic professionals along with British police assessed the video and were able to find out that while Foley was indeed killed, the beheading happened off camera.

According to an expert working with the international forensic science company, he said the examination revealed that the footage "may have been staged."
"My feeling is that the execution may have happened after the camera was stopped," the expert said.
Several other video experts analyzed the footage of Foley's death and it revealed inconsistencies in the video which suggested that it was edited and the beheading shown in the video was not Foley's actual death.
The experts highlighted that even as the knife sliced through Foley's neck, no blood can be seen. It was also pointed out that the sounds made by Foley were different from what may be expected.
In an interview with CNN, Middle East Forum expert Aymenn al-Tamimi said Islamic State rebels have learned to improve the quality of their videos over the years.
Although the forensic experts were not able to guarantee the authenticity of the footage, they said the execution still happened.
Meanwhile, a letter made by Foley to his family has been revealed through a Facebook page called "Free James Foley."
The actual letter was not sent, but Danish photographer Daniel Rye Ottosen, who was Foley's fellow hostage, memorized the letter verbatim.
After Ottosen was released in June, he dictated the contents of the letter to Foley's mother.
