More than 200 medical personnel participated in a sit-in protest at a hospital in Yueyang on Thursday, after a doctor was forced kneel before a patient's lifeless body on August 20.
The medical staff of the Yueyang City Second People's Hospital joined together to also condemn a violent assault on one of their doctors a day before.

The people in question include relatives of a 31-year-old male patient who had stab wounds in his left chest and who died in the hospital after two hours of efforts to revive him.
After forcing a female doctor to kneel beside the corpse, the group then vandalized some of the hospital's offices.
They also caused an eight-hour pause on hospital operations after they blocked the entrance to the outpatient building.
After the incident, the hospital's medical staff immediately reported to police, and hospital operations returned to normal when local authorities interfered.
Investigation about the incident is ongoing.
The peaceful protest was held the next morning in front of the same building which the family had blockaded.
Yueyang City Public Health Bureau Director Huang Jianjun confirmed that the bureau is cooperating with local police in collecting information and evidence about the dispute.
A police task force has also been created to fast-track the investigation.
Meanwhile, Liu Liwei, the Yueyang City Public Health Bureau's Administrative Office Director claimed that they had not received any response from the family in question and had no way of contacting them.
A report from eNews163 revealed that the deceased patient's wife had confirmed the assault on the doctor and had explained that the family was outraged because they believed the medical personnel did not respond quickly enough to save her husband.
The patient's body has been released to the family for his funeral.
