Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James and San Antonio Spurs hotshot Kawhi Leonard have been named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for matches played from February 29 through March 6. The players received the honor on Monday.

James led Cleveland to a 3-0 week while averaging 26.7 points (fifth in the Eastern Conference), 9.7 rebounds (tied-eighth in the conference), 6.3 assists (tied-eighth in the conference) and 2.33 steals (tied-fourth in the conference).

James, the 2008 NBA scoring champion, started the week with a 33-point production in a 100-96 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Feb. 29. He ended the week with back-to-back point-rebound double-doubles, including a 28-point, 11-board effort during a 120-103 win over the Boston Celtics on March 5.

The Cavaliers main man is currently the sixth leading scorer in the league with an average of 24.8 points in 35.8 minutes of playing time and places 37th in the NBA for rebounds per game leader, registering 7.3 boards per outing (he is tied with New York's Kristaps Porzingis , Golden State's Andrew Bogut and Portland's Ed Davis).

Meanwhile, Leonard led the Spurs to a perfect 3-0 record. They are the only team to have an unblemished record for the week in the Western Conference. The 2014 NBA Finals MVP averaged a double-double with 27.3 points (fourth in the conference) and 10.0 rebounds, and added 4.7 assists and 1.7 steals during the week.

Leonard made 6-of-10 three-point field goals during his double-double game performance of 30 points and 11 rebounds in a 94-86 triumph over the New Orleans Pelicans on March 3. In their game against the Sacramento Kings on March 5, he again registered another double-double production of 25 points and 13 boards to led San Antonio to a 104-94 victory.

Leonard is currently the 18th best scorer in the league with 20.8 average points per outing and belongs to the NBA's top 50 rebounders this season averaging 6.9 boards per game.
