The device's 16 megapixel rear camera comes with a dual LED flash and a 5 megapixel front camera. It is one of the first 4G LTE device to come at a price of about Rs 10,000, according to Hugo Barra, Xiaomi Vice President for global operations
Barra says the Note 3 is a game changer because of its cheap price and high quality hardware. The Indian Express compares Note 3 to tough competitors like Lenovo K4 in the budget smartphone category.
Manu Jain of Xiaomi India announced that the Note 3 will be available in a flash sale on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Jain later posted on his Twitter account that the company had received more than 350,000 pre orders just after 24 hours. The device will be available on Mi.com and Amazon India.
The Note 3 is the third Xiaomi device manufactured in India. Jain revealed during a recent interview that 75 percent of the Xiaomi's devices sold in India are manufactured there. The sales, however, are coming mostly from online buyers.
Barra revealed in an interview with The Economic Times India that the company is planning to follow the same strategy it uses in China.
Jain and Barra both confirmed that more Xiaomi devices are going to be released this year. These devices are not just limited to smartphones, but also smart products that can be integrated in the ecosystem of a user.
