English club Arsenal FC is reportedly preparing a £20 million transfer fee to snag Leicester City midfielder N'Golo Kanté at the end of the season.

Caught Offside noted that the 24-year-old central midfielder is a key component in Leicester's dominance this season. He is also considered as "one of the best all-around midfielders" and one of the English top flight's "most dominant" players "on the defensive side" of the pitch.

While the Foxes are certainly keen on keeping him at the King Power Stadium for the long term, Kanté will definitely not be exempted to the bids of interested world-class teams.

And with the eyes of Arsene Wenger allegedly fixed on the Frenchman throughout the season, the Gunners are reportedly "going to try and compete for his services when the season is over", the report says.

Metro indicated that Wenger is set to offer £20 million to the Foxes this summer to try and bring Kanté to the Emirates Stadium next season. His recent performances have reportedly "not gone unnoticed by the country's biggest clubs" and Arsenal will be the first one to bid for the Paris, France native.

Current midfielders Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta are allegedly not going to be given contract extensions this offseason, which means signing Kanté will be a top priority for the Holloway, London residents soonest.

Kanté was signed by the Foxes in August of last year from Ligue 1 club Stade Malherbe Caen for a transfer fee of £6.2 million. He had appeared in a total of 30 games in all competitions so far this season for head coach Claudio Ranieri and had scored one goal while mainly playing defense in the midfield.

Another club who is reportedly interested in snagging Kanté this summer is reigning EPL champions Chelsea FC even as Leicester City is also eager to retain him.
