(Photo : Reuters) Facebook is releasing more features to integrate the Oculus virtual reality device with its social networking site.
While most virtual reality devices are designed mainly for gaming, the Facebook-owned Oculus Gear VR is pushing its boundaries to incorporate social networks. As part of this effort, Oculus recently released a new suite of features geared towards social networking for its Gear VR device.
Oculus is reportedly planning to add new Facebook sharing features, social games and other features that will make the Samsung Gear VR virtual reality device more appealing and applicable for social networking.

Gear VR is launching a dedicated section for users to be able to view Facebook videos on their virtual reality device. Starting next week, users who access Facebook through their Samsung Gear VR device will be able to see 360-degree videos on their profile feed. These videos will b personalized depending on the user's preference, list of friends and the pages they follow.
Facebook is also planning to add a feature that will allow users to like and share 360-degree videos directly from their virtual reality devices. Facebook is yet to fully explain how it plans to incorporate all these sophisticated features intotits platform. The Menlo Park-based tech giant recently confirmed from a blog post that its new set of emoji-like reactions will be released as part of the upcoming virtual reality-ready sharing features.
According to Mashable, Oculus is also scheduled to release two new social games in the near future. The games, 'Social Trivia' and 'Herobound: Gladiators', will allow users to "band together with up to four people to conquer goblins and demons in area battlefields."
In February, during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain last month Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg praised the Samsung Gear VR and added that Facebook is creating a dedicated team that will create more immersive social networking experience through virtual reality.
