The Revenant star is expected to squeeze time into his schedule to watch the movie with Chinese fans.
The Revenant, directed by Alejandro Inarritu (the 2016 Oscars winner for best director), gave DiCaprio his very first Oscars trophy after being nominated six time throughout his entire career that spans more than 20 years. His Academy nominations include performances for the movies What's Eating Gilbert Grape in 1993, The Aviator in 2005, Blood Diamond in 2007, The Wolf of Wall Street in 2014, and The Revenant this year.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, DiCaprio recounted the hardships he had to face while filming The Revenant including having to eat uncooked animal entrails and staying inside an animal carcass just so he can give a more artistic touch to the movie and to his role.
DiCprio acted alongside Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson, and Will Pouter in the film that talks about a man's journey to the wild. He experiences pain, hunger, betrayal, while floating above his own miseries to outwit a villain who intended to murder him.
The Inarritu creation has grossed more than $400 million sales world wide and is expected to rise in the ranks after its release in China on March 18.
