Zayn Malik posted a picture of himself on his Instagram account on Friday with a shaved head, three freshly inked tattoos, and an interesting reference to his former band, One Direction.

Malik has finally gotten over his blond hair, which he kept for the past years - and his pink hair on Valentine's Day. A clean shaved head is now the singer's signature look - probably a preparation for a fresh ensemble to go along with his very first album, M. O. M.

A new tattoo showing an acronym is also also apparent in Malik's post. While many of his fans would translate this as a tribute to his mother, the letters actually stand for "Mind of Mine," which happens to be the album's name.

A One Direction logo also appears in the background of his tattoo, making fans think that Malik has definitely kept his closeness and friendship with his former band mates. Two other tattoos are seen on the singer's neck and upper left chest.  

Malik shared prominence with former band mates Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Harry Styles. All of them had been competitors in the United Kingdom-based reality show The X Factor. Together, they formed One Direction after Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger's tried to group the boys for a new act after being previously eliminated.

It was in March 2015 when Malik, through his representative, announced his withdrawal from the band. He then signed a solo contract in the same year with RCA Records.

The rest of the members of 1D continue to remain in the band, but the singers are currently on a hiatus that may last for about 18 months.
