It was learned that the ship was leaking fuel which pushed the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) to dispatch a team who will check on its impact to the coastal area, particularly on the extent of oil spill and pollution.

The Taiwan helicopter crash, according to Taipei Times, resulted to the death of Lin Chen-hsin, the pilot, and Tsai Tsung-ta, who was part of the rescue team and was believed to be struck by the aircraft's rotor by the New Taipei City Fire Department.

The report narrated that there were five men on board the chopper. Apart from Lin and Tsai, the other passengers were: Chu Yao-chung, the co-pilot who was reportedly still fighting for his life due to hypothermia at the Taipei Veterans General Hospital, as of Friday night; Hsu Yi-yang, an aircraft technician; and Shih Ming-chieh, the other NASC rescue team member.

In the meantime, amid what happened, Premier Simon Chang committed to extend some help to the victims' families when he visited the hospitals on Friday night.

"We will provide the highest level of compensation for the victims' families, because they died in line of duty," the government stated.

He also noted with the Taiwan helicopter crash, "An investigation will be carried out by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Commission to determine the cause of the accident and the parties responsible for the incident."
